About Us

Our Story

Alpine Extreme began in 2008 in Laramie, Wyoming, when a group of University of Wyoming friends turned their shared love of the outdoors into a small gear business. What started with overstock equipment sold from a college-house basement grew into a dedicated online outdoor retailer.

In 2010, the team launched alpineextreme.co and later moved operations to Bozeman, Montana. The business expanded its logistics network and product selection while staying focused on helping customers prepare for outdoor pursuits.

After supply-chain disruptions and the challenges of the global pandemic led the original business to close in 2022, Alpine Extreme relaunched under new management in early 2024. Today, the store continues that outdoor-retail mission with a renewed catalog and a practical focus on gear, apparel, and accessories for adventure.

Our mission is to help customers find dependable outdoor products for the way they explore—whether that means hiking a local trail, camping for a weekend, riding, climbing, skiing, traveling, or preparing for changing conditions.
